Acer Home Office SOS’

In the height of COVID lockdowns, Acer’s sales were down for the year and Archetype was tasked with driving sales for the Acer Swift 5 to shift 600+ units quickly.

With the market being saturated with EOFY sales, we were forced to think outside the business-as-usual box.

As work-from-home quickly became the new normal, working professionals were finding themselves further away from the ergonomic work setups they once enjoyed. We were hearing stories of crick necks, dining tables doubling as desks, boxes doubling as laptop holders and work done on single screens.

We knew that our target audience of Pragmatic Hustlers were on Instagram 53 minutes a day and were already sharing user-generated content. We also knew that they would happily share their personal details if we gave them a good enough reason.

And so ‘Acer Home Office SOS’ was born.

We developed a two-part social campaign, where one winner will receive a $2,000 home office makeover, a new Swift 5 laptop and a monitor to elevate their office set up.

Phase one involved a social competition asking entrants to share a photo of their current set up and why they deserved to win. This was promoted via organic and paid social and eDMs.

In phase two, we retargeted people on social and email using email and social pixel data to drive them to purchase a Swift 5 on the Harvey Norman site.

We built a microsite that would act as a hub and house the competition with a lead gen form to capture people’s details and features a ‘Buy Now’ section on the Swift 5 laptop to pique interest beyond the competition.

We promoted the competition via social organic user-generated content, dynamic social ads and eDMs.

The response was huge and hilarious! From ironing board desks and bathroom conference calls to dirty kitchen counters, we had hundreds of calls for help flooding in from across the country. Harvey Norman sold out of Acer Swift 5’s within just two weeks of being live and we gave struggling Aussies a bit of fun at the same time.
