We are accelerators of Positive Impact

If recent world events have taught us anything, it’s that a seismic change of outlook is required to re-balance our aching planet and to respect all dimensions of diversity. Leading any business provides a unique opportunity to make demonstrable change and to empower others to do the same. To be accelerators of positive impact.

That’s why we are committed to building the next generation of communications agencies, where personal fulfillment goes beyond the work and transcends into why we choose to be part of Archetype UK. We use growth as a means to a greater end – 1% of our profits go back into charitable causes, for example.

We are committed to creating a forward-thinking environment that values and respects our diverse range of teammates. Unconscious bias and microaggressions training happens throughout the year, we are transparent with our DE&I initiatives, we are proud of our gender parity and act upon data and insights. We don’t just talk about wellbeing, we have genuine programmes to support teammates and actively encourage growth, ambition and fulfillment in both professional and personal lives.

We practice both equality and equity, the latter being increasingly important to empower teammates regardless of personal background, circumstance or how they choose to work with us, complementing our hybrid working model. We don’t ever want to ask people to return to office working and instead actively encourage empowerment and flexibility. We’re comfortable with saying that, sometimes, people need different treatment to positively align their opportunities with others, or to unleash new talents. Our upcoming social mobility employer index submission aims to help us understand how we’re performing and where we can improve further.

From a planet perspective, our passion is twofold. Primarily, we believe that not having a legitimate roadmap to net zero is negligent. Recording, measuring and actioning carbon reduction is non negotiable. As part of our journey to becoming a BCorp we are promising to accelerate the reduction of our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, among other commitments across community, clients, governance and our teammates.

Secondly, environmental legislation will soon affect our business. And our clients’, partners’ and suppliers’ businesses. The UK has signed up to the UN’s 17 SDGs and has committed to being net zero by 2050. London (where our hybrid hub is based) intends to be carbon neutral by 2030. The impact required will soon trickle down to every business in the UK. We want to be on the front foot and be known for our environmental efforts through action.

We also know that this will affect our client partners. Most are from nations that have signed up to the SDGs. They too will feel the effect of legislation. They will need to talk about their own sustainability efforts and we want to be well-placed to understand and support them.

Ultimately, we want to create a workplace for the future to step comfortably into. Last August we ran our ‘Summer of Positive Impact’ through a series of guest speakers, in-house debates, educational sessions, team challenges and events. The aim was to explore what a culture of empowering positive impact looks like. The result was a cemented commitment to all our ambitions.

We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished in such a short amount of time but are under no illusion that time is running out.

It’s time to accelerate what we do.
